Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is an action adventure game developed by Naughty Dog (creators of fantastic sagas such as Crash Bandicoot, Jack & Daxter and the videogame The Last Of Us) and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. As almost all of you already know, the Uncharted games are not only action adventure videogames; the gameplay mixes several styles such as third-person shooter, puzzle and platformer.
For the first time in its career, the company Naughty Dog has made a leap from console generations and has released a saga for two different consoles. Uncharted started its path in 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and has launched three more games since then. The fourth, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, is likely to be the last game of the saga, but it is not confirmed yet.
The graphics engine used has been highly improved to achieve a new level of rendering. In regards to the animations, they have been also greatly enhanced; it's not for nothing the developers are working with the next-gen Sony console. The main character will be free to use about 60 different animations just for punching an enemy. The physics have reached a level of realism never seen before. Even the AI of the non-controlled characters has been improved. Our allies will help us in the adventure the most they can, and the enemies will make our journey very difficult. A fine example of that is, if you use a stealthy attack on an opponent when you are climbing a wall, the enemy, in his or her despair, can grab a hold of your leg or your back to avoid falling. You will have to get rid of them to continue your way.
The storyline is set three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Now, Drake is retired and lives a happy life with his wife Elena. However, there is always something that disturbs the life of Nathan, and this time, it's his older brother Sam Drake. He was supposedly dead for Nate, but he reveals he is not, and he has a mission for Nathan. Sam tells Nathan that he need him to unmask a historic conspiracy about Henry Avery, the famous pirate. Due to the great love that Nathan feels for his brother, he decides to help him and together they undertake a dangerous journey. Once again he comes back to the life of thief and adventurer. However, they will not be alone; Nadine and Rafe, two new friends, will accompany them along his path.
It's the first time Naughty Dog have moved a saga from one console to a new one
Once you download Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to your console, you will notice that one of the most remarkable new features is the feeling of an open world that the maps give. Of course, this game is not a sandbox, but the storyline and the missions are not as linear as before. You can choose the route to follow and explore the environment you are in. Thus, you will be free to avoid the path full of enemies and explore a new path to reach your objective.
You will also rely on new items such as the hook (Lara Croft likes this) aside from the weapons available in the former titles. Puzzles will be available to unlock. Therefore, you will have to use all your brains to continue on your adventure. Finally, it is worth mentioning the Treasure System. Some items or objects will give you some clues to help you find some treasures. This way, you can forget the main story for a while, and stretch on the hours of gameplay.
